Belgian and utterly incapable of sticking to one fandom. My heart is shared by Scott McCall, Dean Winchester, the real Peter Parker, Buffy Summers, Spike, Clark Kent, Miles Morales, Kieren Walker, Steve Rogers and too many others to count

Todd McFarlane did great work on Spider-Man, but he in no way saved that character from extinction. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN was a top-selling title when he came onto it. It remained a top-selling title and sold even better while he was doing it, but that’s not quite the same thing as what you’re talking about. So, sure, Todd’s work on Spider-man ought to be celebrated for what it was—an excellent run. But let’s be careful about annointing messiahs.
Hey, look, someone at Marvel actually admitting Spider-Man was a top selling title with a married Peter and Mary Jane, remained a top selling title, and even increased its sales during the marriage!
But don’t worry, I’m sure the usual Marvel hypocrisy and revisionist un-history will resume their usual schedule. I’m not sure Brevoort even knows what he did here, since he was aiming at the McFarlane fan.

My brother and I loved Spectacular more than Amazing back then. And Spectacular was drawn by Sal Buscema. Nuff said.
